らく楽寺井幼稚園では、園児が日頃の英語教育を生かす機会として、また、日本以外の世界があることに気づく・英語に興味をもつきっかけになり今後の語学の習得に結びつく…といったメリットがある海外短期留学を実施しています。日本も国際化に伴い、英語教育の低年齢化が進行しています。そこで、小さい頃から世界に向けた教育に取り組み、国際的に活躍できる、ＩＢのプログラムでもある、国際的な視野をもつ人間の育成を目指し、国際バカロレア（ＩＢ）を導入しました。 
 
　現在、毎日英語のレッスンをしています。それだけでなく英語講師がレッスン以外の保育時間にドリルではない普段の生活の中で、当たり前のように英語を耳にする環境を作っています。 
　らく楽寺井幼稚園は言語ポリシーにおいても園生活の第一言語を『日本語』としていますが、これは「母語を大切にする」というIBの理念でもあります。大切なことは、ターゲットを幼稚園の卒園時に置くのではなく、幼児期に耳を育て、英語に対する興味を育み、そしてじっくりと時間をかけながら、英語教育を続けていくことが、実は一番確実な、そして「身につく」英語教育であると私たちは考えています。
 
At Raku Raku Terai Kindergarten, we offer short-term overseas study programs, which offer the children an opportunity to utilize their English education, to become aware of the world outside of Japan, and to develop an interest in English, which can lead to future language acquisition. As Japan becomes more internationalized, English education is becoming more commonplace. Therefore, we have introduced the International Baccalaureate (IB) program to foster people with an international perspective who can play an active worldwide role by engaging in education aimed at the world from an early age.
 
Currently, we have English lessons every day. In addition, our English teachers create an environment where children can hear English during childcare hours outside of lessons, not as drills, but as a matter of course in their daily lives.
Raku Raku Terai Kindergarten's language policy also states that the first language of the kindergarten life is "Japanese," which is in line with the IB philosophy of "valuing the mother tongue." We believe that the important thing is not to have the children learn everything by graduation, but to develop their ears and interest in English during early childhood, and to continue English education over a long period of time. This is in fact the most reliable and "learnable" English education.
 

　文部科学省では、グローバル人材育成の観点から、我が国における国際バカロレア（IB）の普及・拡大を推進しています。現在、「認定候補校」として取り組んでいる学校は全国に広がっています。 
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology is promoting the spread and expansion of the International Baccalaureate (IB) in Japan from the perspective of nurturing global human resources. Currently, schools working as "candidate schools for accreditation" are spreading throughout the country.

　バカロレアは1960年代、スイスのジュネーブで始まりました。世界を行き来する人にとっては、いろんな国の学習指導方法が違うと、困ることが多々あるということで、どこの国にいっても同じ、世界共通の学位・大学入学要件を目指した、幼児教育から高等教育までの国際教育プログラムです。（高等学校の卒業資格にあたる基準を統一化する目的） 
The Baccalaureate was started in Geneva, Switzerland in the 1960s. For people traveling around the world, the differences in teaching methods in different countries can be a problem, so it is an international education program from early childhood education to higher education that aims to create a common set of degrees and university entrance requirements that are the same no matter where you go (with the aim of unifying the standards for high school graduation qualifications).

　国際バカロレア（IB）は、多様な文化の理解と尊重の精神を通じて、より良い、より平和な世界を築くことに貢献する、探求心、知識、思いやりに富んだ若者の育成を目的としています。
　この目的のため、ＩＢは、学校や政府、国際機関と協力しながら、チャレンジに満ちた国際教育プログラムと厳格な評価の仕組みの開発に取り組んでいます。
　IBプログラムは、世界各地で学ぶ児童生徒に、人がもつ違いを違いとして理解し、自分と異なる考えの人々にもそれぞれの正しさがあり得ると認めることのできる人として、積極的に、そして共感する心をもって生涯にわたって学び続けるよう働きかけています。
The International Baccalaureate (IB) aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and compassionate young people who contribute to building a better, more peaceful world through understanding and respect for diverse cultures.
To this end, the IB works in partnership with schools, governments and international organisations to develop challenging international education programmes and rigorous assessment systems.
The IB programmes encourage students from all over the world to become active, empathetic lifelong learners who understand differences and can accept that people with different views can be right.
